Mexico

Mexico is a vibrant nation that enjoys a unique combination of diverse, scenic landscapes, ancient Indian ruins, and upscale modern life. Sharing nearly two thousand miles of coastline with the US, its neighbor to the north, you may not have to travel too far from home to enjoy all that Mexico has to offer.

If you're searching for outdoor adventure, pay a visit to El Pixo de Orizaba, the third tallest mountain in North America, located in Puebla, Mexico. The summit of El Pixo de Orizaba rises approximately 18,900 feet above sea level. Make your attempt to climb this mountain between November and March, because it is the dry season in the area.

Once you've got your feet firmly back on the ground, take a trip to the Lacadon Jungle, an area of rainforest stretching from Chipas to Guatemala. This jungle is the largest montane forests (an elevation distinction) in North America, and home to several key Mayan archeological sites.

Speaking of archeology, Mexico is home to breathtaking ruins, such as the Mayan Chichen Itza, and the Aztec Teotihuacan World Heritage Site.

After you've scaled a mountain and taken in some of the most impressive history Mexico has to offer, it's time to reward yourself with some relaxation. Mexico is famous for its gorgeous, white-sand beaches and nightlife, in places like Cozumel, Cancun, Cabo San Lucas, and Playa del Carmen. You're never too far from fun!

Whether you're an outdoors enthusiast, a history buff, or just looking to work on your tan, Mexico can offer a little something for everyone!
